Make it a criminal offence for a company to keep quiet about a security breach.

Petition Details

If a company does not immediately inform customers of a data breach concerning their account details, that company is aiding and abetting criminal activity (the stealing of customers money and identities).

Additional Information

Individuals have a right to be told immediately if their details have been compromised, and where the company has been negligent customers have a right to be compensated.

Introduce a law making it a criminal offence for a company to not immediately inform customers of any breach of security that may have compromised customers' personal information (identity) or payment card details.
