We the people demand the abolition of the unelected House of Lords

Petition Details

The unelected House of Lords is 1000 failed politicians, civil servants and media stars who have no power yet are a drain on the public purse at a time when the rest of the nation is suffering. The House of Lords needs no more than 250 people able to sit, vote and advise the government.

Additional Information

The House of Lords has over 1000 people able to vote on government business which is a ridiculous amount and as they are able to claim £300 per day tax free along with expenses the place has more delegates than countries with 20 times our population. It is hard to see what this plethora of failed politicians, sportsmen and civil servants actually achieve apart from delay the process of law. The do not appear to have any real power and in effect can only delay legislation.
