A complete overhaul of the Honours System.
Honours are intended to be awarded to people for a variety of reasons including: making a difference to their community or field of work, enhancing Britain’s reputation, long-term voluntary service etc. The system should not simply reward those associated with Government or political parties.
The Government's own website clearly details the process to be followed when submitting a nomination for an honour - https://www.gov.uk/honours/overview. For the public at large this can take 12 to 18 months. The recent announcement of the departing Prime Minister's rapid Honours List justifies the tag of "cronyism" especially as many awards are to persons who are simply doing their chosen job. This is especially so with regard to his wife's "stylist" who is receiving an award for what?
