Redeploy the resources from Hinckley Point C to build the Severn Tidal Barrage
After months of delay and debate, the Government has decided to review the Hinckley Point Contract. UK and French Governments are politically committed to a discredited project. This contract relates to expensive and unproven technology. This proposal is a sensible alternative to produce our energy.
EDF and Areva are in technical and financial difficulties with existing contracts and there is doubt they can perform. We should use the British Construction Industry to create the Severn Tidal Barrage to harness wind, wave, solar energy and generate reliable and predictable Tidal Energy to provide 7% of UK future energy requirements. Instead of the biggest Energy White Elephant we can build a Green Energy Giant.
