Make gift vouchers fair and stop companies keeping your money after expiry.
From refusal to issue change or a credit note when only part of a voucher is used to simply keeping your money if the voucher expires, these practices are unfair and should be stopped. I call for legislation to control the sale and terms of gift vouchers so that money is never allowed to disappear.
While class action lawsuits have been setting precedence in the US, the UK is still behind.
A survey in September 2010 by Groupola.com suggested that Britons are have nearly £580m of unused gift vouchers. Many of these won't be honored by issuers.
