Petition Action

Allow retail workers rights to act against parents abusing their child in shops

Petition Details

Many who work in retail see parents treating children in an abusive manor often involving threats and physicality violence for an un-just cause but due to customer rights are unable to help, this petition aims to allow workers the rights to defend children being abused unfairly in the workplace.

Additional Information

Many works often get into trouble for defending a child being abused by a parent, Signing this petition I hope will allow more workers the right to speak out against violence to minors without getting into trouble to protect children's rights in addition to customers rights. This may draw more attention to vulnerable children and create opportunity for others to Follow by reporting and defending children who are victims of abuse on the spot.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

If you see someone doing something illegal, you can tell the police. Consumer rights legislation does not affect that.

If there is a specific change that you would like Parliament to make to the law, you could start a new petition about that.
