Penalties against custodians turning away people accompanied by Assistance Dogs
Access discrimination to become a criminal offence with hefty statuatory fines put in place with further offenses increasing the fines given and lead to liquor, transport, or trading license being revoked
Across the UK, there are currently over 6,700 disabled and impaired people who have become the recipient of Assistance Dogs, specially trained to help them so that their disability is less of the daily burden it was before.
In 2010 the Government abolished the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, replacing it with the Equality Act 2010. This Act is insufficient in making companies fall in line with such procedures. This must be addressed with penalties put in place for non-compliance.
