Chewing Gum Tax
The public precincts of all towns and cities are blighted by the residue of chewing gum on the pavements which presents local authorities with a costly and not wholly effective operation in cleaning. I propose a tax specifically on the sale of chewing gum ot offset these costs and bring in much needed revenue to the Exchequer.
