Support the liberation of Indian occupied Punjab to create a Sikh nation.
The Indian Independence Act 1947 at the hands of Britain has resulted in a legacy of intolerance and violence against the Sikh people of Punjab who have contributed so much to Britain historically and presently.
India has systematically and aggressively attacked the Sikh community in Punjab.
- 1947 did not bring independence for Sikhs in India where followers of Sikhism, the world's 5th largest religion are labeled as "Hindus"
- Sikh Golden Temple was destroyed by Indian Army
Sikhs were subjected to genocide in Nov 84 and thousands were extra-judicially killed by security forces.
Sikhs demand the Independence of Punjab, their historical homeland, BECAUSE Sikhs:
- Have a separate religion
- Are the indigenous people of Punjab
- Have been subjected to genocide in India

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. The UK Government and Parliament cannot bring about the independence of Punjab, but if you would like the Government to adopt an official position of support for Punjab independence, you could start a new petition asking for that to happen.
