Non payment of child support to be a criminal offence punishable by prison.
It is a criminal offence to neglect a child by not providing: food, clothing, a home and mental wellbeing. Non payment of child support is the same. Why is this not punishable by law?
Children from one parent families are not receiving the financial support from the parent who does not live with them. This is neglect.

It is already possible for people who don't pay child maintenance to be sent to prison for non-payment, or to have deductions taken from their bank account, their earnings or from their benefits. There is more information about this here:
