Make the treasury change the Help to Buy ISA so it CAN be used for a deposit!
The Daily Telegraph revealed that Help to Buy ISA bonus can't be used to help with First Time Buyers with their deposit. This ISN'T what we were told! This needs to change to help First Time Buyers onto the property ladder. We were MISLEAD.
George Osborne, who set up the scheme last March said: "A 10 % deposit on the average first home costs £15,000, so if you put in up to £12,000, we’ll put in up to £3,000 more."
Only now are we finding out that this will actually be given after completion. So who exactly does this help? A maximum of £3000 off a £240,000 mortgage? This isn't little to NO help.
Please sign my petition to help get this changed, so the bonus can actually be used to help young people buy their first home!
