Reject plans to turn Lilycross carehome into an asylum seeker hostel in Widnes
We are protesting the change of use from care home to Asylum Hostel to accommodate a maximum of 120 persons at the former Lilycross Care Centre, Wilmere Lane, Widnes, Cheshire WA8 5UY
Planning app no. 16/00333/COU Halton Borough Council
The site is unsustainable for the following planning issues
An inappropriate green belt location, insufficient local infrastructure, no shops or access to local facilities with limited transport links.
Over population & intensification of the site detracting from the openness of the green belt.
Poor accessibility at the junction for the amount of traffic that will need to access the site.
Detrimental effect on tourism and visitor numbers to local businesses in the area.
Negative impact on the local businesses and loss of local employment.
