Reduce the full time working week to 35 hours, without lowering current salary.

Petition Details

The UK Government needs to tackle the long-hours culture & promote a restructuring of working time (max 35 hours per week) and the way in which people work such as flexible working.

People who work more than 48 hours per week report more problems in terms of work & health than those who do not.

Additional Information

According to the 2011 Workplace Employment Relations Study (WERS), 41% of employees agreed or strongly agreed with the statement: ‘People in this workplace who want to progress usually have to put in long hours.’

According to the Fifth European Working Conditions Survey, people who work more than 48 hours per week report more problems in terms of work and health than those who do not.
