Politicians stop teling people that the majorityn of the Britis public want to stay in the eu without any evidence to back this statement

Additional Information

We constantly are told by politicians that the majority of the British people want to stay in the eu, lately by the Prime minister, but there has not been a referendum since the mid 70's when the government backed the vote to stay in the common market and refrained from telling the electorate the truth that they were going into a political union. No vote, no quoting, that we want to be governed by a bunch of unelected political failures called the commission.
