Actually listen to these e-petitions
The government has not created and appropriate process or assigned required resources to get e-petitions with over 100,000 signatures to debate as advertised. As revealed in the article featured in 'The Register'
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/09/09/committee_cannot_debate_epetitions_without_more_time/
As part of 'The Big Society' I find it disgraceful the government asks for our opinion, says they will debate it if it meets criteria then refuses to even look it them when the criteria are hit.
As a result the two current largest e-petitions currently have no chance of being debated.
The Backbench Business Committee of MPs who is responsible for looking at these are so overstretched they have not had a chance to even discuses the issues raised.
If the government is serious about improving this country I suggest it urgently starts by showing it can organise it own initiative to a level where it at least works.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
