Petition Action

Stop discriminating workers with dyed hair, allow dyed hair at all workplaces

Petition Details

Today I was sent home from my workplace because I had dyed my hair pink; I was told to come back to work when I had dyed my hair a natural colour. This is discrimation and is unfair, how does the colour of my hair affect my ability to work just like everyone else?

Additional Information

Lots of employees are allowed to have tattoos, as they should do, but how is having a tattoo any different from having unnatural coloured hair?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

At the moment, dress codes are the responsibility of each individual employer, rather than the Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition asking for a change in the law, so that - for example - employers would not be allowed to impose dress codes which dictate how their employees hair can look.
