Celebrate a national Teachers’ Day
We the undersigned ask the government to recognise, and pay respect to teachers, by celebrating a national teachers’ day.
Education International strongly believes that World Teachers' Day should be internationally recognized and celebrated around the world.
EI also believes that the principles of the 1966 and 1997 Recommendations should be considered for implementation in all nations.
We believe that the celebration of teachers will do much good, not only for teachers, but for students nationwide.
Tomorrow is Teachers’ Day in China, and many teachers will receive flowers and cards of good will from their student, this is the kind of behaviour that helps develop children into polite and well respected members of society.
This is the kind of behavior that we need to emulate in British schools.
