Enforce taxi companies to charge accessible taxis the same as inaccessible ones
A disabled person can end up paying 3 or 4 times more for a taxi journey compared to a non-disabled person.
The same journey in an accessible taxi was £13.50 whereas friends in an inaccessible taxi were only charged £4.50.
It is unfair to charge a disabled person more for the same journey because they are disabled.
Having a disability is already expensive, adding another cost to someone purely because they require a wheelchair (or other mobility aides) is discriminatory.
The Equality Act 2010 Section 15 states that a person cannot be treated unfavourably because of their disability.
Therefore I call on the government to change legislation so that disabled people aren't charged more due to their disability.
