HEALTH TAX
SMOKING AND LUNG CANCER,
SUNBEDS AND SKIN CANCER,
ALCOHOL AND LIVER CANCER
JUNK FOOD AND OBESITY
The goverment- rather than increasing tax/tarriffs on certain items should introduce health tax on these items. People who indulge in these items/activities will indirectly be contributing towards the cost of their future treatments.
So the more you indulge the more you pay.
In summary reduce tarriffs/duties on certain items this will reduce smuggling replace it with health tax paid at the point of sale.
Proceeds from the health tax goes to the NHS for treatment/management of specified conditions related to the the activities eg lung cancer,COPD,liver disease,skin cancer,weight reduction surgeries etc
