Make it illegal for employers/universities to discriminate by name
Many employers/universities will discriminate illegally against applicants based on their names either for racial or gender reasons irrelevant of their attributes. We want to make it common place that you are not required to state your name on job or university applications due to irrelevance.
-the focus on job and university applications should be on your attributes and qualities, your name is irrelevant.
-this avoids the issue surrounding companies and universities being obliged to have a certain number of racially diverse or disabled candidates.
-psychology has proved that first impressions are an undeniable aspect of human nature, which would support the idea that people are quick to judge on names, therefore people should not be discriminated against when applying due to names.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Discrimination on the basis of race or gender is already against the law.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a petition asking for all universities to be required by law to consider applications anonymously.
