Petition Details

The vast majority of working people within the UK have pensions that are Defined Contribution plans. These plans are less generous in their pension provision than the 'gold standard' Defined Benefits plans MP's enjoy.
MP's need to lead by example and change their pensions.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for MPs' pay and pensions. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
