Allow public voting on laws being passed through parliament
We petition the government to allow public voting on all major laws being passed through parliament, in the same way that we can vote during general elections.
We would like our voice to be heard not only on voting for which party is going to be in power, but also on which laws are to be passed.
These choices should not be made entirely by the House of Commons and the House of Lords, regardless of whether a party has been elected.
The UK population should have a direct vote in the acceptance or rejection of laws, and this could be implemented in a similar way to the UK Government Elections (ie: ballot boxes at locally selected centres), or via the vast and common access the public has to social media and technology.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
