Reverse the bar on foreign academics advising on Brexit
On October 7th it was reported that world-leading academics who are not British nationals have been asked not to work on research advising the government on Brexit. This policy is bad for the country's interests, hostile to academics, and possibly in violation of UK law.
The Guardian reported on the emails received by LSE academics here: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/oct/07/lse-brexit-non-uk-experts-foreign-academics?CMP=twt_gu

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has said:
"The FCO regularly works with academic institutions to assist in its policy research, and nothing has changed as a result of the referendum.
It has always been the case that anyone working in the FCO may require security clearance depending on the nature and duration of their work.
Britain is an outward-looking nation and we will continue to take advice from the best and brightest minds, regardless of nationality."
It is therefore not clear what specific action you would like the Government to take.
