Increase funding for counselling for 11-18 year olds in education in Bucks.
There is a lack of funding for counselling for those in secondary education, resulting in some schools being unable to afford a counsellor to help their students who are unable to access help outside of school. Therefore there should be more funding allocated to secondary schools for pastoral care.
Holmer Green Senior School offered but never provided counselling for two students (sisters) who had lost their father at a young age and was receiving no support outside of school. This resulted in one of the sisters suffering from depression and the other having terrible anxiety.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The issue you raise is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. Counselling services in Buckinghamshire schools are the responsibility of local education authorities.
You could start a new petition asking for the Government to increase funding for counselling services in all schools in England.
