Petition Action

As with perjury, hold politicians in contempt of the realm if they lie publicly.

Petition Details

Perjury: the offence of wilfully telling an untruth or making a misrepresentation under oath.
If you lie in court you can be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of up to 7 years.
If you are a politician however, who lies under oath religiously to the public, then you usually receive a promotion.

Additional Information

We have recently seen the effect of such lies told to the country, yet those responsible for their gross misrepresentations continue to enjoy their profession having never been held legally accountable for the horrendous damage caused by their deceitful rhetoric.

Make lying to the public, whilst in office, the same offence as lying in court.
