Prime Minister Theresa May Call a General Election Before Triggering Article 50

Petition Details

Theresa May said in her speech to the Conservative party that should would invoke article 50 via royal prerogative.

As it stands the Prime Minister has no mandate of the people herself and we call upon her to call a General Election Before attempting to trigger Article 50.

Additional Information

At the Conservative Party conference Theresa May announced that she would trigger Article 50 next year and do this via a royal prerogative.

As it stands the Prime Minister has no mandate of the people herself.
She was only elected via Conservative Party elections to be leader of the Conservatives and ultimately Prime Minister.

For Theresa May to have the ability to trigger Article 50 we call on her to call a general election to obtain a mandate of the people of the United Kingdom first.
