British Government to Amend official stated policy over Jammu Kashmir issue.

Petition Details

Jammu Kashmir was autonomous while India was ruled by British. On the 15th August 1947 British Rule came to an End. JK Maharajah was undecided about the future of JK. On 22nd & 27th October 1947 respectively, JK was invaded by Pakistan and India subsequently resulting in Bloodshed & Division of JK.

Additional Information

1) At the time Late Lord Mountbatten was Governor General of India, he allegedly on 26th October 1947 accepted the
instrument of accession on the condition that the final settlement of Jammu Kashmir will be determined by Citizens of JK.

2) UN Resolution of 13th August 1948, accepted by both India and Pakistan and supported by International Community
including United Kingdom, stipulating that people of Jammu Kashmir will be given Unconditional Right of Self-Determination, yet to be fulfilled.
