For Every company in the UK to plant three trees for every one they cut down.
Deforestation is happening at an unsustainable rate. Not only is it putting the survival of millions of species at risk but is also accelerating the effects of global warming and the ever changing weather conditions. The planet needs trees and the only way to combat it is to make this law.
"Many of the world’s most threatened and endangered animals live in forests, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits forests offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter." "Some 46-58 thousand square miles of forest are lost each year—equivalent to 48 football fields every minute." http://www.worldwildlife.org/threats/deforestation
"Deforestation is responsible for nearly 20 per cent of global carbon emissions." http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-7m8mnm

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This petition seems to be calling on companies, not the Government or Parliament, to take action.
You could start a new petition calling for Parliament to change the law, to require companies to plant three trees for every tree they cut down, if that's what you want to happen.
You'll need to give your full name to start a petition.
