National Service
In the wake of the riots and whilst Britain is in the grip of "gang culture", the benefits of national service should be reviewed once more.
A basic human instinct is to 'belong' and why not have them belong to the country and The Queen.
Give the young a chance to find further education or secure employment after leaving school or force them to be trained by the military for 2 years.
They would learn vital skills on cooking, cleaning and how to look after themselves, whilst belonging to a group that genuinely look out for each other and instill values.
The fear of war should not come in to it as these NS recruits could learn skills from administration to fighting and will be used for their future
