Petition Action

All cats should be registered and microchipped

Petition Details

On 2/11/2016 We was to give a stray the home he longed for, with help the rspca gave us a voucher to have him neutered Microchipped and be tested for FIV by 10:30am they'd rang to say he was positive.
I went to him and held him as they put him to sleep telling him "it's all going to be ok now mate"

Additional Information

No animal should have to go through that in its short life his age was determined at between 1 & 2 when we moved into our new home and started getting the garden cleared it had turned out I'd disturbed where this beautiful little boy had been living and calling his home.
We posted online and had him scanned nobody came forward and no microchip.
so every night for the next 2 months he would come in every night and go to sleep on the settee we gave him a home.
Anyone who owns a cat by law should have to have it registered and microchipped to reduce the number of strays "TC" should of been microchipped so the owners of this loving boy that left him behind got a fine or even worse for not protecting them and should be charged with cruelty/neglect to an animal.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a petition asking for Parliament to change the law, to require all owners to register their cats and have them microchipped.
