Repeal the 1955 canal closure act.
Repeal the 1955 canal closure act.To prevent losing more of our Industrial Heritage. And stop developers building on disused canals and surrounding heritage. This will also give restoration groups the possibility of restoring derelict Canals.
Without this act being repealed ,we cannot stop any Local authorities or CRT applying for a canal closure and granting planning permission on derelict canals or nearby heritage sites.
