Make bcg vaccines available for British/English born babies
My baby is a English baby born in England. I was told by my health centre that she is refused the bcg vaccine, because she is English with English parents and grandparents. We are living in an area of London (tower hamlets) which is hight risk (tuberculosis) which is a outrageous
This is not right all babies should be immunised against this fatal illness, not just babies who have parents/grandparents from outside Britain. Especially when they live in high risk areas please sign this position
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The NHS guidelines on the BCG vaccine already state that "BCG vaccination is recommended for babies who are born in areas where TB rates are higher than in the rest of the country, including some parts of inner London."
You can read the full guidelines here:
http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/pages/bcg-tuberculosis-tb-vaccine.aspx
You could start a new petition calling for the BCG vaccine to be given to all babies.
