Petition Action

"Brexit" on an advisory vote by a minority of the British population is wrong.

Petition Details

We, the undersigned, call on the Prime Minister and the Government to justify taking the UK out of the EU on the basis of an advisory referendum vote by a MINORITY of the electorate (37%) and therefore a MINORITY of the British population.

Additional Information

Only 37% of the electorate (equivalent to 25% of the population) voted to leave the EU.
Therefore 75% of the population did not vote to leave or were not eligible to vote. This is a gross injustice to the majority of the British population.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
