Make inhalers free on the NHS for asthma sufferers

Petition Details

Asthma is a very common respiratory condition causing difficulty in breathing. It can be very dangerous and I have known people that have died from asthma attacks. For people on multiple inhalers it can become very expensive to renew prescriptions for something that can be life saving.

Additional Information

Asthma UK states that there are over 5.4 million people with asthma in the UK, which means asthma affects one in every 11 people and one in five households.
For a quarter of a million people with severe asthma, even climbing the stairs can feel like a marathon.
In 2014, 1216 people had died from asthma. That figure is still rising.
People who suffer from diabetes do not have to pay for insulin and diabetes is a long term condition like asthma.
Sufferers should not have to pay to breathe.
