Invest in fibre optic broadband for residential consumers
Companies have been advertising and promoting fibre optic broadband for some time, yet all have failed to deliver on their promises and even today fibre optics are available to a very small percentage of the UK population.
We would like the government to invest in the IT infrastructure of the UK to enable the roll out of fibre optic broadband to the residential user at reasonable cost and within a short time and potentially to fine or impose restrictions on companies which fail to deliver on the promise of rolling out fibre optics.
We would like to see the government set plans for a fibre infrastructure to bring the UK in line with the rest of the world's broadband including funding local governments and local communities to implement the technology themselves.
