Make Paper or Green Packaging Alternatives available in Supermarkets
Caring for the environment and the world that we live in is of importance to many of us.
Building upon current and future legislation to protect our environment, I would like Green/Paper packaging alternatives offered in our shops and supermarkets.
This initiative would complement already successful policies aimed at reducing plastic carrier bag usage and plastic "micro beads" in products.
For example, the availability of paper bags in our supermarkets in place of plastic fruit and vegetable self pick bags.
Similarly, make plastic packaged fruit and veg special offers available as self-pick, enabling customers to choose Green packaging.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The decision to offer paper or green packaging alternatives is an operational matter for individual supermarkets, and is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law, to make it compulsory for supermarkets to offer paper or green packaging alternatives.
