Petition Action

The British Government should not pay to renovate Buckingham Palace.

Petition Details

It is currently proposed that the UK Government will pay £369 million to renovate and repair Buckingham Palace.

In a time of austerity and cuts to every service it's disgraceful that the state would spend tax payers' money on the private residence of a billionaire.

Additional Information

The Queen should fund the entire renovation. If increasing tourism is the argument for the state spending this money then the palace should cease to be the Queen's residence and be entirely open to the public who pay for it.
