Make it a legal requirement to have consent taught in sex education.
Make it a legal requirement to have consensual sex explained and taught in sex education.
93% of abuse is carried out by someone a child knows. We need to put it out there and make it clear to children and teenagers what is illegal, what is abuse, and who to tell.
A recent study from the University of North Dakota found that nearly 32 percent of college male participants said they would “force a woman to [have] sexual intercourse.” When asked if they would “rape a woman,” that number dwindled to 14 percent.
We must be teaching today's youth what is acceptable and what is not.
