Change the laws and policies for animals travelling on ferries
Oliver died on a DFDS ferry,DFDS’s rules and regulations means that on some routes dogs travelling have to be kept in cars. .We followed all the procedures as per DFDS rules, during the Dover to Dunkirk trip we asked a member of staff if we could check on him and was told no.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. The policies of ferry companies are not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament.
You could start a new petition calling on Parliament to change the law, to require ferry companies operating in the UK to have specific policies for animal welfare. For example, you could ask for a law requiring ferry companies to allow owners to check on their animals or requiring them to allow animals to be taken out of cars.
