Petition Action

Give immediate notice to leave the European Union (EU).

Petition Details

We have been lied to about the requirements of leaving the European Union. Under international law and under Article 50 (1) itself, only notice to leave is necessary. We do not need to trigger Article 50 at all.

Additional Information

It is stated thus in Article 50. And therefore we do not need to have 2 years of negotiations which may not lead to an outcome anyway.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
