Retailers in London should pay the London Living Wage

Petition Details

Major retailers in London who employ more than 500 people have a duty to pay their staff a wage that is relative to the London living wage.
For example Primark have sales in excess of £2.5 Billion and their basic pay for shop staff is £7.81. As I write this the London living wage is £9.40

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

At the moment, this is a choice for retailers to make.

You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law, to require large employers in London to pay the London Living Wage.
