Petition Action

Bank of England should be condemned for producing a new £5 that contains tallow.

Petition Details

Bank of England's new five pound note (£5) is unacceptable to those of religious or ethical belief who find the inclusion of tallow in its manufacture unacceptable. The BoE should be ordered to immediately stop issuing the new £5 notes and recall those already issued.

Additional Information

I have nothing but contempt for the Bank of England's complete insensitivity to the society we live in. To produce a new note which contains animal fat is abhorrent to vegans and vegetarians as well as those of religious faith.
