To prevent the death penalty from being reintroduced, ever.
The government should enshrine in to law an act which will prevent, to the maximum extent possible, any current or future government of the land from reintroducing the death penalty to this country, for any crime.
Although many crimes are heinous, and our first thoughts may be "death's too good for them" or "hang them high" we must recognise that it is the mark of the civilized society that we do not act on these instincts, and that every life is sacrosanct.
State sponsored killing is still killing, and that is not acceptable.
