Hold A Referendum on whether to accept Freedom of Movement post Brexit.

Petition Details

The public voted to leave the EU. But they did this for a number of reasons, and it should not be assumed this was a direct rejection to the freedom of movement. Negotiations should not be based on the assumption that the UK public disagree with the four key principles, and a vote should be held.

Additional Information

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) itself concluded that “The vast majority of people who voted to leave the European Union did so because they believe it is best for Britain and not because they are intolerant of others.”
The government should acknowledge the identification of this fact, and the public disapproval of hate crime and xenophobia since the vote, and as such offer the opportunity for the freedom of movement to be decided on.
