The Church of England should not be exempt from the Marriage (Same Sex) Act 2013
People employed by the church do not have the same rights as those employed elsewhere. This is unfair and wrong. The church has been allowed to use the 'quadruple lock' and this discriminates. The church has a different definition of marriage in Canon Law (Canon B30) and is at odds with civil law.
See how the quadruple lock can be used to discriminate https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/306000/140423_M_SSC_Act_factsheet__web_version_.pdf
See how Canon B30 has a different definition of marriage that excludes Same Sex marriage https://www.churchofengland.org/about-us/structure/churchlawlegis/canons/supplementary-material.aspx#p195

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly the specific change that you would like Parliament to make to the law on same sex marriage.
