British Nationals should be able to retain their EU citizenship after 'Brexit'.
Millions of Britons travel to Europe freely and easily each year for work and business, to visit friends and relatives, or for a holiday or short break.
Associate Citizenship would ensure that UK citizens could continue to enjoy these freedoms and benefits after the UK leaves the EU.
This would have no effect on the process of leaving the EU which would still go ahead as planned.
It is likely that those 'opting in' will have to pay a fee to cover administration costs etc.
