Prevent the funding cuts to Rural Maternity services in South Shropshire
With proposed cuts of £1.5 million pounds from rural maternity services in South Shropshire. SaTH and the CCG are trying to take away provisions for expectant mothers, mothers in labour and post natal care by attempting to down grade or close, Ludlow, Bridgnorth and Oswestry MLU's.
If the cuts go ahead this could mean having to travel for ante-natal appointments as well as to deliver babies for up to and in some cases over an hour!! This is not acceptable.
Labour can be a scary time for both the mother and father, who need to be in a safe environment surrounded by midwives and auxillaries that they know.
MLU's are incredibly safe places to give birth for low risk pregnancies and often have less intervention.
Save Rural Maternity Services.

While the UK Government is ultimately responsible for the NHS and accountable to Parliament, the day-to-day operational decisions are a matter for the Clinical Commissioning Groups.
