Petition Action

Change the Services for Children, Adults and Families with Autism in Manchester

Petition Details

I am a mum of 5 son's 2 of them have Autism, I have been fighting for services for my children for the last 6 years in Manchester. Funding is so limited, not enough people are trained in Autism and there is no help or respite for parents/carers. Things must change to stop families suffering daily.

Additional Information

Autism is being diagnosed more and more each year the figures are rising but unfortunately the health and social care budget is decreasing. Families in Manchester are fighting daily to get the help and support they need myself being one of them, it's a long, hard and lonely road and at the end of a very tiring battle you may lose so it's time to start all over again.
Things must change, we need to stand up and help Manchester do better.
Whether you are affected or not just one day you might be.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Services for people with autism in Manchester is the responsibility of your local council.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

You can also petition your local council - you can find out more here: http://petitions.manchester.gov.uk/petitions.ti

If you want the UK Government to set specific rules or to increase funding for autism services, you could start a new petition asking for that.
