Petition Action

Apply to rejoin EFTA & retain EEA membership as objective of Art 50 negotiations

Petition Details

The undersigned who include BOTH brexit and remain voters call on the Govt to aim for a Brexit that is practical workable & realistic. We believe rejoining EFTA and remaining in the EEA is the only sensible way to achieve this & that any other approach will be time wasted, to the detriment of us all

Additional Information

Continuity - access to single market, market for financial services & freedom to work & live in EEA states
Independence - free from EU Common Agriculture, Fisheries, VAT, Foreign, Defence Trade policies & European Court of Justice;
Influence - Not bound by EU common position on international bodies (eg-WTO) & will have an independent voice at a global regulatory level
Simplicity - The UK is already a signatory to the EEA
Able to impose immigration controls (as per Lichtenstein, EFTA member)
