Thornhill stay and play needs to stay open
Are you aware that kirklees council is withdrawing facilities that are regularly used at surestart centres? Thornhill in dewsbury is one such centre. The stay and play where children and their parents socialise and support each other is due for closure over the next 2 months.
We have been told that we should not demonstrate our disgust that despite feedback given during a consultation period the service will still end. This service also includes access to health visitors, midwives and family support which has helped so many mums from in and around the thornhill area.
Mum's have been told that the only way to keep this service open is to volunteer to do it ourselves and charge families to attend.
This service, like many others, are needed and used.
